LEARN THE SECRET TO ATTRACTING AWESOME NEW EMPLOYEES

Our client Mark asked us this question: “I tried to put an employee referral program in place to help me attract and hire awesome new employees, but my employees haven’t participated. They seem so apathetic about telling their friends to apply. What gives?”

Well, Mark, you’re not the first person to scratch your head and wonder why the heck your team isn’t promoting your company to the wide, wide world. Do you want to know the secret to making it happen? Mindset. Yep, that’s it.

What, that doesn’t make sense to you? OK, can we get a little woo woo here? Let me explain how to use the law of attraction so you can learn how to attract and hire awesome new employees.

There’s a little something called The Law of Attraction and you may have heard about it. And, no, I’m not talking about romance in the workplace. There’s a book called The Secret that gets all up into it and shows you how to create good things in your life through having the right mindset.

Call it attitude, call it company culture. It all comes down to the same thing. Now, if you know that your company stinks and you yourself wouldn’t refer your brother to work there, you have other issues and that’s something to work through on another day.

3 WAYS TO ATTRACT AWESOME NEW EMPLOYEES

BUT, if you truly believe that your company is a great place to work, but you’re not attracting the right candidates, here are 3 things you should consider.

  1. Be clear about what you want (your goals). Write them down and visualize having reached these goals. Use the principle of The Law of Attraction to attract quality candidates and to encourage your current team. Begin each day with the picture in your mind of what you want to accomplish. Allow yourself and your team a few minutes every day to discuss and imagine the positive impact that reaching your goals provides.
  2. Expect great things. Set strong expectations for your team and for candidates. Top quality teams attract top quality candidates. People want to be associated with successful people. When candidates know that your team is strong and successful, the ones who really want to work hard to be included will be attracted to your company. Use good interviewing and screening techniques to single out those amazing candidates. Don’t try to rush this process. Let it unfold for you throughout your recruiting process.
  3. Have a gratitude conversation. Use positive affirmations to reinforce your culture and attitude by sharing one thing every day for which you’re grateful. Say them out loud so that you and others hear them. You must really believe that your place of work is satisfying and fulfilling to you. You must focus on what you want more of and push away negative talk, gossiping, rude and offensive behaviors and thoughts.

RETRAIN YOUR BRAIN TO ATTRACT AWESOME NEW EMPLOYEES TO HIRE

It’s important here to remain positive and to avoid focusing on the negative. You’ve heard that saying, “Be careful what you wish for.” Focusing on negative results will definitely sabotage your efforts if you don’t quickly stop those thoughts in their tracks and bring those positive images back to the forefront of your thoughts. These activities are retraining your brain to expect good things and promoting the same beliefs in your team members.

If your team members want work to be an enjoyable place, they need to look for and encourage quality friends and acquaintances to join the team. No one wants to have their slacker friends come on board, because it will mean more work in the long run, damage to their own reputation and lower morale all around.

So come on sales people! Sell up your company! Tell your friends, your neighbors, your acquaintances and the guy in line next to you at the gas station, that the great jobs are at your company.

Spread the good word.

Use the Law of Attraction to attract and hire awesome new employees that will help you spread the word to more and more awesome people who can become customers or new employees.

The more positive your thoughts and actions become, the more positive the things and the people around you will become.

You can make a difference in your workplace, so let’s do it!
