Many times we look at homeless people as lazy, unclean and uninspired individuals, however, many of us don’t realize how close to the edge we live. After finding myself unemployed with a dwindling safety net, I experienced the hardship that being unemployed can bring.
In my search for employment I began to network in the Frisco Chamber of Commerce and met the Volunteer Coordinator for the Frisco Family Services Center. As that relationship evolved, I soon discovered how I could not only keep my skills current while unemployed but just as importantly, give back to the community.
That realization marked the birth of the New Beginnings Career Mentor® Program.
The New Beginnings Career Mentor® Program is a series of four workshops focused on every facet of the job search process and are facilitated by volunteers. These volunteers have a combined wealth of professional experience in various companies and diverse industries which have proven to be of value to the program.
